What is a virtual paralegal?
A virtual paralegal, also called a freelance paralegal, is a professional legal assistant who provides remote support services to attorneys.
With the help of telephones, email, snail mail, fax machines and the Internet, she can handle any task related to a legal case.
As an independent contractor, a virtual paralegal is not an employee of your law firm, but rather a business owner responsible for his or her own training, equipment, office furniture, taxes and health benefits.
Virtual Paralegal Fees
Generally, a virtual paralegal charges $40-$75 per hour, depending on his or her specialty and the complexity of your project.
When you work with a virtual paralegal, you pay only for the legal support services you receive. You do not pay for the time spent socializing around the water cooler or exchanging personal emails.
